About Us<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>[vc_column_text css=””]The Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology for Postgraduate Studies was established in 1999 at the University of Baghdad, to become the first and only one in Iraq specialized in this vital and rare field. The institute provides postgraduate programs including higher diploma, master’s and doctorate. The institute started with the master’s program in 2000, followed by the doctorate program in 2002, in addition to the higher diploma program in the same year. The institute aims to prepare scientific cadres that keep pace with the latest developments in the fields of genetic engineering and its applications in the fields of medicine, agriculture, and industry. It also focuses on advanced scientific research, which aims to provide innovative solutions to health, agricultural, and environmental challenges to achieve sustainable scientific and technological progress.
\nThe institute includes two scientific branches and one research unit:
